A Status is a keyword that represents the condition that a specific Position has within the context of the Match
Why use the Concept?
It permits the Site and those responsible for operating it to track which Referees are all set to complete an Assignment. It also identifies which Positions still require action by an Assignor to fill (find a Referee to officiate)
How is the concept implemented?
The Administrator or Assignor can set the Position Status manually, but this is normally set dynamically by the Site as operations proceed. A Referee performing SelfAssign to a Position will automatically set the Status to Accept. Usage of Turnback will set Status to Turnback (defined below).
Comments
The Position Status can have any of the following values:
Accept
An assigned Referee has accepted the responsibility to appear and perform the responsibilities for the Position
Open
No Referee has been assigned the Position and a Referee is needed
Unconfirmed
A Referee has been assigned the Position by an Assignor, but the Referee has not indicated whether s/he can Accept the Assignment or not
Turnback
A Referee that previously Accepted an Assignment has had a change of availability such that s/he has had to return an Assignment to the generally available pool of Assignments. Other Referees that are properly qualified may SelfAssign (assuming the Position's Method is SelfAssign)
